Emil is an award-winning British filmmaker based in Gold Country, California. His work is driven by a deep curiosity about the human experience—why people do what they do, and what compels some to live against the grain. He is particularly drawn to individuals who have chosen unconventional paths, finding in their stories the potential to inspire others to see life differently.

Through documentary filmmaking, Emil values genuine connection and immersion. Each project offers an opportunity to step into someone else’s world, to share their lives for a moment, and to experience perspectives removed from the rhythms of his own day-to-day. This exchange—built on trust, curiosity, and presence—is at the heart of why he makes films.

When not behind a camera, Emil can usually be found at home with his wife and son on their 3.5-acre homestead, alongside their two dogs, four alpacas, and a llama.
